* 2008/09/05: Program has been revised.

Scope of Conference

This unique conference covers a broad spectrum of science and technology of solid proton conducting materials, from scientific basics of proton dynamics in solid media to their application for various electrochemical devices.     SSPC-14 will be held in the heart of downtown Kyoto, and various social events are planned in addition to distinctive scientific programs, such as an on-going, ad-hoc discussion.     A financial support from several fund grants with various funding policies will be available for young researchers to encourage the participation.    Some funding restrictions apply and early inquiries are recommended.
SSPC-14 will be organized so as to preserve the basic concept and conference style of previous SSPC meetings.     In particular, similar to SSPC-13 held in St. Andrews in 2006, we recognize the tremendous potential for solid state proton conductors to revolutionize the methods of power generation.     Our focus here will be on opening up new frontiers in Solid State Protonics.     SSPC-14 will encompass both organic and inorganic materials; it will address the materials, their properties, and their applications.
The conference is co-organized as The University of Tokyo International Symposium and the Solid State Ionics Society of Japan.
The conference is also supported by many organization and society as well as Industries.

The special issue for the SSPC-14 of the Solid State Ionics will be published.     The acceptance of papers is subject to normal SSI quality control by peer review.
Your paper's submission is via the web site of the Elsevier Editorial System (EES) for Solid State Ionics which is located at http://ees.elsevier.com/ssi/ following the Guide for Authors on that site.
Please select the "Special Issue: SSPC14, Kyoto" when you reach the "Article Type" step in the submission process.

       * The Guide for Authors for SSI
       * The Tutorial for Author about EES

We suggest that manuscripts should be 4 or 6 printed pages long for contributors, 8 pages for invited speakers.

Deadline for the manuscript is August 20, 2008.

Do not delay the submission of your paper who is the candidate of the financial support through the SSPC-14 organized committee.     Otherwise you will be withdrawn your financial support.
